Why would a dealership not want warranty work? Seems like guarenteed money; they could charge up the bill and send it to toyota.
Because they do not get full credit for warranty work, therefore it ties up techs that could be doing other work. Only reason I can think of.

My "cool" service advisor told me that anyway. He said they get 80%.

I've always heard just opposite, that a dealership is heavily compensated on warranty work.

I took it and the replaced the outer seals on the transfer case under the warranty. On the receipt it listed the cost as "paid in full by toyota extra care."

They did it without questions, so hopefully my dealer is mod friendly, but they didn't wash the car

It was mentioned earlier but have you checked the Transfer case breather to see if it is plugged. If you haven't you should because if it is plugged, it's only a matter of time before the seals leak again.

I know it's a different truck than yours, but the transmission is the same. Take off the console and get it to this point,. and you will see it. it's circled in blue
