Headlights
Before I even ask....yes I did a search and not really good info.
I am trying to adjust my headlights up and it just doesn't seem to work...>!!!! FRUSTRATING AS HECK!!!
There are 2 adjustments that I see...Both on the inside....one on the top and another on the bottom. I believe the little white gear looking things are the ones I am suppose to be wrenching..?? Anyway, Driver side gets to a certain point and tightens up and basically no change.... I don't want to wrench to much harder as I alread started to strip the ˟˟˟˟ty plastic nut thing... The passenger side is even worse....how the heck do you get to the friggin adjuster??? the rad support bar pretty much covers it.. Maybe I am doing something wrong....somebody please help me before I rip the headlights out and Duct tape them to my roof!!!

One way to adjust them is with a long skinny phillips screw driver. It is designed to be adjusted in one of two ways(the other being what you described). You just stick it down through a little channel into where the gear thingy is. You shouldn't have to get to a point where it gets hard to turn. you may have gone too far.

I tried using a screwdriver..... it broke off one of the teeth on the gear and it just seems too tight for a screwdriver to do it.
I don't think it has ever been in a front ender..... What are you thinking other than the obvious that it would obstruct the movement..??? Ands in that case, there is no visible damage to the front end.
I know everyone hates these sort of "wimpy" questions but I am getting frustrated with these things!!!!!
Has anyone else had this problem???? If the gear is turning ,(until it gets too tight) what is the problem?

I think the front is messed up or the bracket is bent or, the classic, "you're doing it wrong."

I didn't bother giving you a "doing it right" scenario because basically you sounded like you WERE doing it right in the first place. It just sounded like it had been wrecked and was messed up from it.
My first comment had to do with you saying you would have been better off searching the net instead of asking us. kind of insulted I guess. sorry sass. it was just a joke, hence the little emoticon.

Well, sounds like a good topic for a write-up. I have never seen a good description on how to do this.
I need to raise my beams a bit since I put new coils in the rear and raised the back of my Runner.

sorry keisur....just very frustrated
Sorry...maybe I took it the wrong way... I am just very heated over this subject right now. Things didn't go very well. I sprayed the adjuster's down with liquid wrench and let soak for an hour or so. Then I decided it was only getting tight because the screw was rusted, so wrench harder right?? Well ...the threads are rusted. wrenching harder worked for a couple of turns. Then there is this plastic clip on the other end of the screw near the headlight, friggin thing pops out!!!!! Anyway, the threads are way to rusted and no way of properly adjusting. I need to replace the adjuster screws etc....
Oh Ya...ALBPM, I already found that thread but unfortunately my adjuster screws are not the same....thanks anyway.
