Gun Metal 17" Rims

I'm looking for an on-line source for some 17" gun metal or maybe black rock crawler rims for an 03.

Anyone have any suggestions? I've checked the usual suspects and found only chrome.

I had tried tirerack and tires.com but notta.

I'm going to scout around locally tomorrow and see what I can find. I know they will cost a fortune here.

I've been looking since impulsebrklyn posted the pic and I haven't found jack either.
Those JAOS rims are nice, but REALLY expensive, I wonder how long a powercoat would last on a wheel anyway.

I've found some nice wheels, but they all seem to be 20"+.

Volk Racing makes some 17" gunmetal 6-bolt rims that look reeeeeeeeeaaal nice, but they will run you (I think) something like $2k.

I believe you're talking about the Volk TE37s. Someone posted a pic of a Runner on them a while ago. They're very light for their size, but also very expensive.

I know this isnt what youre looking to do, but what about getting the chrome rims, (hang on a sec... I know you dont want chrome) and having a black pearl shot over them? If the rims were "scuffed" with say 800 grit, then top coated with the black pearl, what do you think those would look like? I was thinking about doing this with my chrome rims, but got such a good deal on the factory aluminums.... I couldnt pass em up.

I may still do this... all I'd need is the paint.

Those are close to what I'm looking for. I like the way those rock crawlers look on Bob_98SR5's Buddy's X-terra on the Pismo 4RJ site.

1Runner- Thanks for the idea. I'm going to look around here today and see if I can come up with anything.

Praufet - Yep those are it. I think they are actually made by Rays.

Another suggestion in the same vein as 1Runner suggested, how about getting a chrome rim and having it powdercoated? It would be much more durable than black-pearl finishing and look almost identical. They did this to a set on American Choppers a while back and they came out REAL nice. Just a thought...

It has both the names of Volk and Rays Engineering on the wheel. It may be made by Rays and sold by Volk. They're a very popular wheel for race cars in japan. Many cars from them GT500, GT300, and cars running the Tsuba cricuit use them. Just fyi.

Look at 1010 Tires. I did a quick check and found some Gun Metal 17" wheels from Enkei, Motegi, MSR and Volk. Might be worth taking a look at.
