Grill/Bumper decision help!!!!

Well, I am trying to decide what to do up front... I am forsure doing the satoshi mod, but I have a few options I still need to decide...

Do I keep the grill chrome or colour match it blue? the lower piece on the bumper was colour matched by the previous owner too, it has suffered some sever rock chips since it was painted, do I repaint it blue ( still not sure if I like it better than black?) or rhyno line it black?? almost think it would look better black again....

I will probably be removing the lights on the bumper at that point too....

I want to have a few bits of repainting done anyhow ( due to rock chips )... so the little extras I am talking about here are not a $$$$ decision at this point, mostly visual....

Thanks for the advice!!!!
Bob

i say don't waste time/money with the bumper if you are going to replace it.

I say simmer down now... you just got the damn thing last week.

Nah, you should paint the bumper black! I think it would look good.

Oh, you should first align that light though, it looks like its winking at me.

What about painting the grill black, the valance black, and the chrome black? That's what I'm planning on doing (eventually ) and I think it would look awesome on your particular color and style runner...

I'm doing an all black theme on mine, but personally I think all blue would look better on yours.

Yeah, now that you say that, maybe a "color keyed" theme would be cool. The "blacked out" look looks really good on lighter colors, and black. IMHO.

The valance always looks better in black, but with your bumpers and those rims I think that you should leave your grill chrome. And when you do the Satoshi use a silver TOYOTA instead of a white one. IMO that would set your truck off untill you get new bumpers. You can always paint the crome after, if you don't like it.

tsk..decisions decisions huh bob..haha.

well if it were me and i had a blue truck keyed like that, id go with black/dark grey valence, & flares. itll look funny with black valence & different coloured flares (IMO) i just did my satoshi, but havent painted the grill trim black yet coz im still waiting for my clears to do the amber mod:

still kinda undecided on how itll look with the flat black trim. i like how the shiny grill currently flows with the lines of the headlights & bumpers. colour key trim is nice..but i like contrast, and since my ride is black, it wouldnt be enough of a contrast:
(photochopped black trim & ambers)

add to that, my ARB bumper plans..and ill probably end up painting the grill trim black.

get the satoshi on..unpainted. to get a feel of what you think youll like. you can always paint after...

Are you still planning on going with an aftermarket offroad bumper or no?

Thanks for the comments guys!!!! I really like the way it looks too... But I would still like to do the satoshi mod and orange corners.... I think I am really lliking the colour matched grill look!! Like Sonny's photoshop pic here ( man I llove this pic!!!!!! ) :

Hey Sonny are those stock fender flares?? I notice that your flares have pieces for the front bumper and mine dont... the ones on mine are bushwacker flares...
Also too, where did you get your TRD decals from?? I was at openroad Toyota today and they wanted $100 a side for OEM ones... OUCH!!!!!

As for an off rod bumper, am still undecided on what to get, so I am waiting for now... am thinking on a TJM, but want to do manual hubs first so I can throw another 3/8" spacer up front to keep it up there....

Cheers
Bob

nope..limited flares. i think theyre the same as the highlander/sport editions. i like the whacker flares..i think theyre a lil meatier than the SR5 flavour flares...

and i got the decals from http://www.streetgraphics.net . i think it was about CDN$25 shipped to my house. any colour combo too. ive got the .gif files of the decals if ya want. you can take em to any sticker print shop n they can do it for ya as well. i think the overdrive shop in guildford mall quoted me L X H in inches. so 2X11" = $22.00 each. or something to that effect. i just ordered from the link above...pretty cheap considering the amount of HP you gain from stickin em on
