Did you search? there are already alot of threads covering this, one just last week. Now this thread will show up when someone searches for "starter problems". Threads like these make the search function less effective.

Almost sure it's the contacts. Mine did it and a month ago I replaced them and it's never failed again. Starter works better now also. Cranks faster.

Yup its the starter contacts alright. I had the same problem. Search for a TOR, he is a Toyota Parts Rep and you can get the contacts from him for $20 shipped. Follow the write up in the tech section on the starter removal, replace the contacts and everything will be like new.

Worst use of the English language I've seen in a while. This is a common problem, read the archives. It's probably your starter contatcts. Before you ask ust how to remove it, please check the tech section and do your homework. If you still unsure please ask us. And try to use some form of grammar.

First, the contacts are a dealer part. I have seen kits on the internet but they are probably just repackaged Toyota kits. $20 plus tax. And be prepared for them not to have them in stock. They are not a priority part in the parts dept.

Second, no you don't have to disassemble the whole starter motor. The contacts are in the back of the solenoid which is attached to the starter motor.

Please search the archives and/or search on Google for Toyota Starter Contacts Replacing. There are lots of sites that have instructions on how to do it.
