Gearing, for my 3rd Gen

Gearing, for my 3rd Gen
I know, according to my VIN my 2002 4Runner has 4:10 gears. I have since Lifted it added wheel spacers and 285/75/16's on stock limited wheels. I get about 17mgp with AT's and 15-16ish with MT's. I'm currently at 127k and will reach 200k in 1.5 years. I had intended to purchase a pre-owned 3.4 mill and add headers, URD SC kit, and a TRD SC, among other odds and ends. After researching the turnkey cost I started to think a bit. HMMMM I though instead of a SC I could re-gear both ends and ARB lock the rear, then when I need a motor just replace what I have no SC. So the question is which gears to go with? I never plan on anything bigger than the 285's seeing as how these seem perfect for the application. Would I need 4:88's or 5:29's? I do 80% highway for work and play and the other 20% offroad. I know the Expedition West Taco is running 5:29's. And most other Taco's are equipped with 4:30's. Though the ARB can only be geared with certain ratios.

i have 4.88's and dual ARB's with 285's. I too was a little skeptical on the 4.88's at first but went for it anyway. I love it. Truck does not rev too high during freeway driving at all. I pull about 2600 rpm at 75mph. I wouldnt want it any other way. Right On.
