Gas leak when filling tank

I have a 99 4Runner Limited and had some frame rust repair few days ago, they had to take the gas tank down to do repair and last night i went to fill it up and it leaked gas when it got full.from searching around here i think it may be the filler neck.maybe when they reinstall the tank didn't install the filler neck correctly.I wanted to ask for you guys opinion before i try to crawl under and take a look.if that's the problem can it be fixed without removing the tank?can i see where the neck connects to the tank without removing the tank? Also on my way home from work today CEL came on,is it related?

More than likely they damaged a vent hose for the evap system. That will trigger the CEL and could cause leaking if you overfill.

Well that pretty much says something is not connected or tightened

Most often when I need to drop a tank I loose and disconnect at the gas cap side of the filler neck.

Did you pay for this repair???

Then have them make it right if it was a freebie you might ask for help and offer some thing they might want.

Bottom line something got done wrong putting the tank back in.

On most cars The filler neck gets tightened down with clamps. They probably forgot to tighten one. Not a big deal.
