Fuel Injector Cleaners

Soooo... What brand do you use? And how often do you put a bottle in.

I use chevron with techron cleaner. Its about 7.99 at the chevron gas station

i sometimes use the 1.29 STP fuel injector cleaner seems to be good too.

Redline total engine cleaner. Good stuff
Search and you'll find that there's some BG44 (or something like that) that a lot of people swear by. I bought that Chevron stuff a while ago and didn't notice any change.

I typically use a fuel system cleaner every 6-12k miles. I've been using one of the name-brands from Wal-Mart (Prestone, etc.) vs. BG44 only because I'm there frequently and I've been doing it since I first bought my '00 with 13k miles, so I figure I'm ok not using the "hard" stuff.

I use the Chevron Techron cleaner about once a year. I also run Chevron gas in the 4Runner and my BMW. The reason is that BMW recommends Chevron gas and has said that the Techron does a good job of cleaning/keeping clean the injectors and valves. I've looked inside the combustion chambers with a boroscope a few times and there doesn't appear to be any deposits in the BMW's engine. The 4Runner has a little carbon build up but I've only put 10K on it out of it's total 188K. So I'll have to see if that goes away over time.

I am good friends with the parts manager at a local Toyota Dealership. He recommended Granitize injector cleaner over BG44. He said that they are both great but the Granitize is a little cheaper.

I used it in my 4Runner and Celica and it seemed to work.

I used BG's 44K once a year for 8 years in my Eclipse and into the 7th season of racing I had my injectors cleaned and balanced and the shop who did them noted that the spray pattern was still very good for a car with over 100k and 10 years old.

I will use RedLine fuel system cleaner also since it's a bit cheaper but BG's 44K is very good.

Wasn't it in 69 and later when Alfa's were notirous for problems because of their fuel injection problems thanks to having to pass US emissions?

Good think I get to drive a 67 Spider with hemi pistons and a CARBURATOR.
