Firestik II storage mount

Firestik II storage mount
Sorry for the repetition, but try as I might, I couldn't find the source for this mounting idea. Somebody out there has already done it and I just "borrowed" the idea.
Great place to mount a 4' Firestik II to keep it handy and yet out of the way.
I made a couple of mounts from aluminum angle stock, riveted them to the privacy curtain mounts and it's done!
While I didn't take any pics during fabrication, it's not rocket science. If anyone wants pics of the individual mounts, just e-mail me.
So, whoever thought of this idea, congrats and thanks!

Lurch,
That was Tdiddy and I borrowed it from him too. http://www.4runners.org/articles/cobra We didn't create the cool brackets you used though. Do you have a close up pics of both sides?

Yes, I have pix. However, since I don't have any way to post them, feel free to e-mail me and I'll send you the pix (I have attached one for you.)

Lurch,
That fountain of innovation is Tom.
Like Tom, i lay mine in the pocket created by attaching the two flaps to the headrest "arms".
Man, that's a clean job w/ the mounting brackets you created. Great job.

I must be missing something. I do not have that flap you are talking about. I did not know there was to be something there
Mine came without it...and it does not look like something is missing... did they make ones with and without the flap? or did my previous owner snag it?

That is a very clean set-up.
Where does it go when it's in use? Do you have a quick-disco or something? I am looking for a good place to mount one as well as a good place to buy the bits.
Thanks,
Mike

Well, this isn't your lucky day, GoldTaco9. I just happened to have my nifty digital camera with me today at work and ran right out and snapped a couple of pix of the mounting bracket. Then the battery went dead.
Anyway, I mounted it in the rear hatch jamb, just below the taillight. There's metal there for the mounting and it keeps it out of the way. If I were one to use my CB often, I might consider a different location -- the reception isn't the best and the antenna needs to be pushed aside whenever the rear hatch is opened or closed (it's mounted on a spring.) However, I only use it on road trips, thus the need for a place to store it conveniently.
Alf Enterprises is the source for the mount. It's called a "vertical door jamb mount" and it's stainless steel and quite adjustable.

So far, everything works great. I'm sure the signal strength is somewhat lacking with this position, but radio checks have always brought the response, "I can hear you just fine ..."
