How does one (me) fill them holes in the body where the flares were attached?

 

Bondo and paint....

 

Hey Jboy want to sell me the flares? As gapguy said, your gonna have to bondo and paint. Depends on the size of the hole though. I've done some work with little plastic plugs and touch up paint.

 

find some plastic plugs and give it that nissan frontier look

 

I filled some of the trim holes in my '85 with a marine epoxy glue, it is fairly thick and very sticky. I just applied a blob to each hole, pushing it into the hole. Then once it set up most of the way, used a razor blade to trim it flush with the body. Since my truck is white as is the glue, I never bothered to paint it (all the holes are down on the rocker panel and mostly out of site. Has held up well for about 8 years.

When I removed my Bushwacker flares, I welded up the old rivet holes, sanded, primed and painted the fenders.

 

Wow that came out good.

 

I`ll keep you in mind if I remove them and decide to sell.

Hey 4Crawler, what kind of paint did you use?
Does it blend with the other panels as good in real life as it apears to in the pics?

 

Just the Plastikote Import Color stuff at the auto parts store, match the factory color code to the color name and look up the matching paint. I think it took 1 or 2 cans to spray the fender.

 

Go to your local marine store and pick up some marine-tex. It's a putty so you can mold it and smooth it out. Once it harderns, it's solid enough to sand like wood. Then just touch it up with some paint.
