Exhaust Gas Temp Gauge

I recently installed the supercharger and with all the discussion about the weakness in the fuel system, is an EGT gauge the best way to keep an eye on how well the fuel system is keeping up (or not)? Do I need to monitor both banks or is an elevated EGT going to spread itself across all cylinders?

If I go with the EGT guage, does the strap on probe work as well as the welded on probe? Any special places to mount the probe?

Thanks!
Tom

Hi Tom,

If it were my truck, knowing what I now know about the shortcomings of the TRD S/C kit, I'd just install the recommended fuel upgrades and some sort of piggy-back computer to control them. I'd save the money and time that would be spent on the EGT sensor and possibly use it for something else.

If the weather is nice, I'll be installing my S/C, 370cc injectors, spark plugs, and spark plug wires on Sunday. I'll keep everyone posted.
