Engine vibrates in gear when stopped
O.k. read through the other searches and found nothing really applied. My 2.7l auto Tacoma vibrates when you are stopped at a light or stop sign. It feels normal when in neutral or park. When you decellerate (spelling) you can feel it vibrate as you slow down. This just all of a sudden started there was no progression. Sometimes it is bad and sometimes barely noticeable.

I read that this might be a result of a worn out rubber exhaust support. I purchased a new one for my 4Runner but I have yet to try it out because the old girl needs a new thermostat housing before I crank her up again. I'll post my results when I am done.

Less than 5k. Why would it shake only in gear? and its worse in reverse. It shakes pretty bad when you put it in gear and keep your foot on the brake.

O.k problem solved, my neighbor got under car and I put it in gear. When I got my new exhaust they strapped the muffler hangers to the heatshield bolts. On a tacoma they are directly under the passenger seat and are aluminum. Pretty soft metal and not strong enought to hold a muffler. Any way the entire exhaust was moving(vibrating) from the headers back. I took out the hangars and guess what no vibrations. I fabbed up my own hangar and bolted it to the frame and its all gravy from there.
