i replaced the whole motor with this jdm one...
already put about 4-5k miles as of today and did its first oil change last weekend-all clear and running strong and even better

lol,i got lucky and found the right dingbat lol...
she bought my jetta for her son and mentioned about this 4runner she wants to get rid off.
i was thinking of a rust bucket,basket cased 4runner like my friend had at one time think a 90.
she mentioned she wanted to donate/give it to a salvage yard....i drove the jetta to her place and spotted the runner....lo and behold it was a 2000 ltd 4wd.
she took $300 off the selling price of my jetta,exchanged titles and i drove the truck home---it had no cats as they where stolen at one point in time...
truck's running good now and prooved her toughness w/ the snow storm we had here in md. last weekend

Yes, you can, but if the lifter buckets are stuck, it might have gone too far.
