Drinking water storage in Gen. 3 runner

I have a 99 runner. I do a lot of extended hunting and fishing trips with this truck, and I would like a better way of storing drinking water. I have heard of people placing water bladers in the side pannels of expedition ready SUVs. Does anybody make such a storage system for generation three 4-runners?

to my knowledge, no. but as you probably konw, there are water storage containers that are low in footprint and are shaped like jerry cans. those can be tied down in a cargo box on top or in the cabin too

I've thought about opening up the small storage compartment in the rear to see exactly what kind of space was available there, but never got around to it. I suppose it really depends on how much water you want to carry.

I do remember seeing this:

if youre still curious, check out my sound deadening writeup in the tech to see what space is available behind the interior paneling.

I think those bladders are pretty much universal.

I looked into getting one a few months back, before ARB started importing them here and I couldnt find them anywhere. Let me know if you find somewhere in the Us that is selling the ARB imported ones.

Thanks

I emailed ARB USA and this is their response

These are not imported into the US. We here don’t have any information on them. You may want to find the manufacturer of them, or a retailer of them to find further information.

Thanks,

The rear compartment accually has alot of room, and if u popped the pannel off to check where wires are, i bet u could do alittle cutting to gain alot more room. I use my compartment to hold all my towing supplies and they all fit in there quite well.

i mean, u can always stack the big sam's/costco sized things of bottles water in the back of ur truck.

I thought they were shown on their website? Well that would explain why none of the expedition parts suppliers in the US have them.

Thanks for e-mailing them.
