I have been debating to get the 1.5" spacer also with the Panhard drop bracket like on the right side you have, or a 1" body lift.

I wonder if my stock length Edelbrock shocks can handle it, or if they'd break in an off camber situtation like on a twisty trail.

ok so now less than 48 hours after the lift is installed i went on my first trail-ride and WOW was it ever fun. i dont have a winch, and i didnt have another 4WD along with me to pull me out of any sticky situations so i kept it to only the things i knew i could handle, but it was great feeling the suspension DOIN ITS THING over the trails. all in all i was on the trail less than 30 minutes but it was just to a) scope out the trail b) try out the suspension. ill def get some sweet pics from future excursions.

(im now officially addicted, good by EVER having spare cash around. the list of things i want to do to the runner is endless. )

I think it looks great, but...from the picture it doesn't looking like the spacers are doing much. Could it just be the picture. Or could it be 1.5" isn't as much as I thought. I really want the spacers too. Here look at mine with out the spacers to compare. If that's the difference I think our Edelbrocks will be fine Corey. The difference isn't that much in my eyes. Like you said there might be an issue when you flex. I think I might do this instead of a body lift. Thanks for the picks, again it looks great. I think I've made my mind up.

Did that Downey sticker come with the kit? Downey has been the only company that didn't bother to give me any way to advertise for them. My tool boxes, jack, and jackstands are covered in stickers now.

 

no the downey sticker was extra, which i disagree with since its really good advertising for them, but i really liked the sticker so i payed the $5 for it, i figured on the 3in kit and shocks thats equivalent to them charging me like .50 cents more per part and throwing in the sticker for free anyway

if you're interested its part # 1760W-3 pg.141 in the downey catalog measures 3in X 14.5 in

bilstein didnt include a sticker either, i was dissapointed

 

How are you going to level the front? I'm already at 14 3/4" in the front to level mine out without the 1.5" spacers. Also - you going to upgrade your tires soon? My 31's looked a little small in the wheel wells so now I'm going with a 32" tire.

Is your driveshaft humping your gas tank?

What length rear shocks are you using?

 

i havent trimmed the gas-tank skid plate yet, but i also havent done anything to completely flex out the rear suspension that would cause that to be a problem, i plan on trimming it before i go on any serious trail rides. i just went out and rode one side of the rear up on a mound to see how close it was getting to the tank and the drop bracket seems to be doing a good job for moderate suspension travel.

as far as the rear shocks go i got Doestch MV-12 Racing shocks from downey, their part # is 4MV10-SL and are rated at 15in compressed and 25 in extended with the stem/eye setup needed for my 94 runner with the full 3in rear kit.

the kit results in more than a 3in gain in ride height for probably several reasons, my original springs gave just under 11 inches of clearance from the rim to wheel well. my current setup has almost 15 inches clearance, the almost extra inch gain is probably due to my old springs being old and worn out, and the higher spring rate of the HD coils.

 

wouldnt the drive shaft be further away from the gas tank?

 

the reason yours and mine look similar might be that ive got a bunch of stereo equipment in the back, 2 12s in a HEFTY box with a pair of forward facing 6x9s and two amps. i like the spacers for the springs because even when i have the back loaded up its still gonna sit really close to level.

Passenger rear compression, driver's side full extension, but only with longer than stock shocks.

I got tank rub down this a skinnier shaft, but my new plate rubs the pinion flange ont he rear diff. Should be taken care of in a week or two.

Just curious.
