DoubleCab Taco in need of OME 881 or 882? Help

This is a post for my brother he has a 02 double can and is currently running a 6" Fabtech kit. The 6" kit utilizes the stock coils, he has since added a Warn 9000I winch and Bentup bumper and is still running the steel cable. So what we know is that these coils are made to be direct raplacements of the stock coils just with added compensation for additional weight. Question is which of the 2? 881's or 882's? Just read on ARB site that you can only use there springs with their shocks because the seats are different, I wonder how different?

As long as the bottom seats on the fabtech shocks aren't flat, you should be okay. Might look into the Tundra coils too.

Yeah, those fabtech shocks are just longer, and put the coil up higher.

tundras only give like 1.5" lift for the tacomas anyways.

edit: reading further in regard that comment.

I use Tundra coils with ome shocks, just needs a place for the coil tip to sit. 881s will ride a little better then the 882s as the 882s are super freakin stiff.

id go 881

He wants it to have the bulldog look he had before where the front is higher, No feakin clue why , If I have anything to do with it he's going to sit level. I was told the 882's are 1" taller.

i think they are due to spring rate, but i dont know much about the ome front springs.

he using stock coils and spacers now? or does the lift sit that high due to really long shocks and just stock coils. not real familiar with drop bracket lifts either.

check the weight recomendation for both the 881 and 882, some use 880s, but if you go with whatever he has in the front id recommend 881s or go with some 2wd stock tundra coils. no trds, they are the same height as 99 coils but stiffer and can handle more weight.

At this point it will be difficult to tell where the stock springs sat in height because they are sagging now. As far as weight recommendations wheelers offroad says the 882's are ideal for the double cab with winch and bumper. I just want to make certain they are not to rigid.
