Does anyone know how to turn the 97runner stock alarm on?
WHen I got my 4runner, it didnt come with remotes for the alarm, and it is off. I am planning to get a remote but dont know how to activate the alarm.
The brain is under the seat, so I know that its still there.
Anyone have experience with these alarms?

You can buy a replacement remote off of eBay. Just do a search for 4Runner remote. You'll need to buy one that has the correct FCC ID. For my '98, the FCC ID is BAB237131-022. I'm not sure if '97s are the same though.
Once you have a remote, you can easily program it to control your alarm using these instructions.
