Question Dash lights?

Hi I have a 2000 T4R SR5, with 99000 miles on it that I bought used this past summer. I didn't get to look it over too much before I bought it. It did have all the recent matience done to it. Timing belt, new tires,Bridgestones 265/70 16's break pads, water pump. The basics that a dealer will do to just sell a unit. I bough it in daylight and I didn't notice that the lights behind the air cond. controls weren't working. sometime the a/c switch lights up at night for me. The Hazard light is light up, and none of my power window controls light or the cruise control, light up. Also the factory CD, Am/fm stero and speakers were junk. I have added a new CD Player speakers XM Raido, and a amp. I though that the lights worked a little before they did the instal. I ahve had the audio guys look into why the lights aren't working. They can't find any thing wrong.

My question is how would I get them back up and working??? Any sugestions? I have had this posted once before and it dissapeared??? I hope that I have the poet in the right place? Thanks in advance for any help with this problem. TJ:complain:

Did you check your fuses? Are you sure your dash dimmer isn't turned down all the way?

This isnt exactly easy, but I would start ripping the dash apart and tracing the wires until I find where the voltage stops.

My last light just went out behind my climate controls. but I dont seam to have the same problem you do. but, getting to the lights on the climate control isnt that hard if you want to check the bulbs. just remove the center cover and then the unclip the cover over the climate control. Also maybe someone had other sources of lights that they for some reason took out before they sold it.

The PO of my truck had some funky neon style light behind the AC controls. apparently it didn't work because he never connected it. additionally, he simply cut the 12 source to the original wires... a simple splice fixed mine. I took the liberty to replace the bulbs anyway.

After my new head unit was installed I noticed that my dash light behind my temp controls would be out, i would bang on the dash, and they would light back on...

I pulled the dash apart to ry to find a short but couldn't...
So if it ever goes out I just bang the dash and it turns back on...
hehehe easy fix but really gets annoying after a while...

Same here. Just a smart slap on the center of the dashboard does the trick.
I opened it up and pulled out the bulb once. It's tiny and they don't sell it at the usual parts stores (Autozone, NAPA, etc.) but I was lucky enough to find one from the boneyard. I installed it and... same thing, it still needs a bit of "persuasion" to get it lit.

Check all the fuses and then just start finding the bulbs to check, if they are burned out you can tell.
