Coolant Temp sensor
Guess I should have started a rebuild thread, so all my stupid questions can be lumped in one place.
I have another Q if anyone wants to plan 'unstump the chump". I took apart the 5vz back in April, and took pics. Shown is the coolant temp sensor. (The bottom sort of looks like the housing on a knock sensor). Note the attached harness connector (that cllips into EC1). Oh, its a 99 4runner (well the engine was from that).
I spent a day looking, and thought I found the missing sensor, thinking it was typical of like on 3vz. Cleaned it up, and fail. The threads were too large; the hole is a 12x1.25 (iirc). Got to looking, found my pics. i have no idea what in the cat hair I did with original. I can't find one online that looks like the photo.
You have the right number, at least, that's the part number I installed in my 3.4 89422-35010
The rear temp sender for the gauge has a spade connector, iirc.
Part numbers, torque specs...

If you have the vin (long shot) and used it McGeorge has been awesome when I get a little too creative with my parts ordering.....but it really is the part number that is in the 96 right now and the 99 3.4 takes the same one.
The one time I don't take a photo of a part I'm replacing...

What the cat hair... What grandpa used to say.
Thanks Ms Hab.
Its "On Order". Included vin of donor, and they noted last time parts from two models and questioned it.
Of course, when the stuff gets here, I will then find the missing one. AmIRight?

Interdasting. Can't get the background and text right in post above to reveal top secret messages.. Granddad might be technically challenged LOL
Update. Got the new temp adapter. Is just like in the 3.0 style So I am in process of making a harness plug for the 3.4 harness. Still have the plug from the 3.0 so plan is to cut if off that harness, and just splice directly onto the 3.4. So if the 3.0 temp plug ever goes bad, I'll have to do more welding.
One thing of note when I was testing the 3.0 plug, stripped it back, and the wire looks as tho I might struggle to get it to solder. Round trip thru the plugs and 1 foot of both leads gibs me some 1.5 ohms so the lectons still travel. Don't think that will matter much, at room temp the sensor is 1760 ohms.
Will post up a pic hopefully when I get it done. Most likely manana.

Jiminy Crickets. Wutadumass.
AFTER I got the 3.0 connector wired in, it wasn't 2 hrs later (looking for somethin' else!) I found the original.
Happens every time. Nothing to see here. Move along.
Good news is I also found my new IAC gasket. Gotta take wins when I can.
