Cool Check up and Amsoil question

Hi
I am going on a long roadtrip soon. Since it is time for an oil change I thought I would put some Amsoil 2000 0W30 in the runner (Gagdets seems to love this stuff). Should I do a engine flush before? Also, what else than brakes would be good to check out before going?
Cheers,
Carsten

Flushing will not hurt.

If the belts and hoses including the timing belt have been on for 4 years and/or 60,000 miles, change them.

Flush the brakes.

Change the tranny, transfer and diffs.

Change the fuel filter and air filter.

Go throught the warranty maintenance book that came with your truck and catch up on all the stuff you have missed up til now.

Thanks for the input.
I actually had most of the 60K checkup down 6K ago. But I might still have it looked over just to make sure nothing is out of order before going of to the Pacific Northwest.
Is 8.35/qt a fair price for the Amsoil 0W30? and how about 11$ for the filter?

Flush probably helps but it seems like a lot of people didn't bother with the flush when they switched and are now running fine.

I didn't do a flush and so far no problems

So, did they replace the belts and hoses or did they just "Check" stuff on the 60,000 mile check up?

As far as the price of oil goes, that is a lot more then I pay for it. Do yourself a favor and sign up as a perferred customer or dealer by following the links on my site. It only cost $10 and you will save more then that on your first order. That is the best hook up I can do for you.

I think they just checked, I would have to check the report. I bought it used after the 60K check up.
How long does it take for the order to arrive? I am leaving town next weekend.
Preferred costumer get 15-20% of which adds up to more than 10$ but the shipping must bring the overall price backup again.

Another thing
What do you run in transfer, trans, and diffs? I will have to change that at a later point and just wanted to hear what people think of AMSOIL or similar for this purpose.
thanks for the input
cheers,
Carsten
PS: I thought belts and hoses were more a 90K maint. issue

Smile another Amsoil costumer

Now I am yet another Amsoil consumer as far as engine oil and filter goes
So I guess the diff and trans are next sometime down the road.

Have a great weekend
