Check Engine Light... I have Had Enough...

With the P0136 code you need to check for exhaust leaks (ie leaks upstream of the rear O2 sensor) and fix those first. If you have no leaks and still get the same code, then more than likely it is the O2 sensor that is bad and a new sensor should clear the code for good.

The o2 Sensor did permanently get rid of the light,
but I for the life of me can't recall if I have the same code as you.
And my eyes is going cause i can't seem to read it any where in my posts....

I've been doing a ton of short drives lately(about 4 or 5 miles each way) and almost no highway drives. I was thinking that as a result, it's a possibility that I had a lot of carbon building up on my O2 sensor due to all the warmup cycles without really ever hitting top temp for an extended period of time.... so I threw a container of Prestone Fuel System cleaner in my tank and filled up last night, drove about 20 miles down the highway pretty hard and then reset the CEL. It hasn't come back on yet(been about 40 miles since I reset it), so we'll see what happens. I suspect it will come back on sooner or later at which point I'll probably pull my 2nd 02 sensor and try cleaning it with electric cleaner and see if that does anything... and if not, replace it. I also cleaned my MAF sensor tonight and the throttle body and throttle plate just for peace of mind.
There are no exhaust leaks... although I'm expecting the exhaust manifold to crack within the next 2 years or so, since it seems they all do on 3RZ's at around mine's age.
How much did they charge you for the replacement rear 02 sensor? The guy at Autozone told me it was $295 from them, so there's no way in hell I'd do that since the most expensive one I've seen online for our trucks was like $160.

Advanced Auto Wanted $131, I payed it because I needed the part because i was about to go on a trip and the sensor needed to be driven in so that when i went back for my inspection it would be functioning.
But URD is a great price for it.

Alright cool... thanks for the quick feedback. I'm not too worried about spending 80 or 90 bucks to replace the 02 sensor if it'll fix it, but spending $300+ on the part only to find out that it doesn't fix the issue would make me want to Chuck Norris-Roundhouse Kick a mexican baby several times in the face with a steel toed boot. I probably listen to too much Dane cook.

Actually I get something sort of similar. No symptoms or anything, except that the check engine light only comes on a couple miles into the first drive after I unplug the battery and then switches itself off 1 or 2 days later. It's really weird but since there aren't any symptoms, I haven't really done anything about it.
Anyone know what that could be about?
Only mod I've done that could have had any impact is a K&N FIPK.

Just my two cents...

I ended up not having to replace it. Just cleaned out the one that was in there already. Turns out it wasn't even bolted onto the pipe. The previous owner didn't use any nuts to hold it on, and it was just resting in the pipe. I'm thinking that maybe I went over a bump and the thing bounced up and out of the pipe a bit and tripped the CEL. I've since gone and cleaned the 02 sensor and bolted it back in, and the light hasn't come on again in a week.

The reason I ask is it takes a few miles for the computer to recheck itself.

Check the tips of the ignition coil side insulator shafts
and the tips of the insulator shafts on the other side as well.
If you see a thin black burn mark across the tip, the
insulator is arcing over causing that cylinder to miss-fire.
I'm trying to find a reliable source for "Correct" Ignition Coil caps, insulators and a full set of wires at a reasonable price.
