dude just unplug the battery. if there is nothing wrong with it the light will not come back on. if cleaning the MAF did not solve the problem then the light will come back on.

Yes even my '98 didn't have the screws and I just sprayed the MAF inside as I found after searching and posting. As far as the TB (throttle body) I used an old toothbrush (or just reuse it don't I don't care) and sprayed the "mouth" of the trottle body while using a screw driver to hold it open then brushed the grime. You'll have to spray the toothbrush to clean it and maybe even use rags to help clean the the butterfly opening.

Don't get so stressed out about everything. You won't add a minute to your life. Remember that there are worse things that can happen other than not having a vehicle to drive. We had a tech at a shop I used to work at that just wouldn't slow down and spazzed over everything when he couldn't figure out a problem. Once he slowed down then things began to make sense and he could fix anything to his abilites. It was me...

ace hard where. i shoulda waited and got some real ones as these have the pins going through instead of threads, kinda like stock hitch pins..oh well you can get the hangers from steve at sonoransteel.com top notch, but i dont think youll want em there with your oem bumper...might look silly

just seeing how many times you started it. i think it takes 3 times to throw the light. not 3 starts but 3 times to throw the code. it could be intermittent times...i was just askin.

im confident you solved the riddle to your problem

I guess I will have to find an Ace Hardware, Lowes And Home Depot Didn't have big enough ones and neither did Sears Hardware...

I think I did too...
I feel a huge dif now that it is clean...
And I am sure I will feel a bit more once I get the throttle body clean...

And then after that...

P0304 4th cylinder misfire

I brought my Tacoma in to the dealership again this morning from yesterday and they figured out that the cause of my check engine light....is because of my 4th fuel injector going bad...They quoted $500 to replace ONE injector...yeah right! I found a set that would be nice to have on my truck from the URD site...I will be ordering the Bosch 318cc, 6 for $389.99....not a bad deal for 6. =) I already am expecting a supercharger in the next week or so...so excited! any ideas on what upgrades should be recommended. All advice will be appreciated! Thank you all!

I apologize for sounding like a newbie, but where is the distributor cap and rotor located? I am not thinking straight and would want to know where its at...haha well I actually have a new timing belt, water pump, and thermostat on its way to my house...I am at almost 82,000 miles...I thought that the belts can last up to 90,000? am I wrong? hmmm
