I have been a bit busy with bumpers, parts, conversions, wheeling at the hammers, but I have got this page done.

There is no concrete list of exactly what you need, because it will be different for every vehicle. Casey's truck was easier than most will be because it was a base model 4Runner swapping parts from a base model Tacoma.

Basically what you need regardless of what tranny or engine you have is the complete hub to hub front diff from a base model manual hub Tacoma, this will be a NON-ADD diff. You will not be able to shift on the fly, but the good part is you'll have manual hubs from day 1.

The second big part is that you need the 4WD transmission from the equivalent vehicle as your made by Toyota as a 4WD.

So if you have a 3.4 with an automatic, you need an automatic tranny and t-case from a 3.4 automatic 4Runner or Tacoma along with the front diff mentioned above.

one thing tho...most of the thumbnail picture links don't work. i think you just gotta captialize the .JPG in those links and they'll work.

Hey Casey, when you did your LCE headers did you have the muffler guys cut your cat and weld a flange?

 

as a matter of fact, i didnt want to bother with that so i just bought their hi-flow cat, and it bolted right in.

Have you had your smog check since you did that? That is the main thing I am worried about.

 

i was worried about that too, but i just passed last week!
