Okay guys, what I am trying to do is move my turn signals from the lower valence of my 04 D-Cab Taco, and put them in new mounts inside the parking light assembly outside the headlights. I have to find some way to have them on constant for parkinglights, and still blink when I hit the turn signals, and then I want to use the turn signal assemblies in the lower valence for what they look like they should be already, foglights. I want to put a set of H3 bulbs down there...what do you guys think? I know its a confusing set of ideas, so here is a picture. I know how YT people love Pictures.

Yes. There are several ways to do exactly that. You can use a two way bulb in one mount or two bulbs or you can go with LED's for either/both. There are write ups on how to do that scattered around the net. If you can't find one here, then I know there are several on TTORA.

I dunno about the rest of ya'll but I would just take the entire bulbs and wiring and route it into the parking lights and switch out for amber bulbs..

As people have already suggested here changing the existing socket to an 1157 type would probably be the easiest way just hook what would normally have been the brake/turnsignal lead up to the ungrounded wire of the turn signal harness and you're in business.
As for using the existing turnsignal as a fog light you might have have some spread/pattern issues just use a yellow lamp and you'll be good for colour though.
One other thing you need to check the traffic code in your area there might be some restrictions regarding visibility of the turn signal your corners are partially blocked by the bull bar.

edit: another idea the uk spec surfs have a turn signal up in the corner there. where we have a flat orange reflector insert they have a raised lens with a lamp behind.
Check some of the rigs on www.hiluxsurf.co.uk the people there are very friendly and might even be able to hook you up with parts if you want to that route. their site was down again the other day though so I don't know if its working right now.

edi edit: the site is up again if you want to go this route there is a guy there named Jotto is parting out a surf [runner] and might have the parts you need

 

shoot chris, everyone with an aftermarket bumper on a taco does this basically! just an 1157 socket and 1157 dual-filament bulb. no crazy wiring needed. the part that took me the longest was cutting out bigger holes for the socket and waiting for the epoxy and silicon to dry for new mounts. its super easy!

What actually came of this mod?? I have a similar need, but on a 86 4runner. I found a mod idea on Roger Brown's website, but am not certain I want to do it... I was hoping to just run the stock turning bulb & harness into a hole I would bore into the back panel of the parking light assembly. Do you have any feedback on what you did?

I did what Chris is describing on my old '86 4Runner. I installed an aftermarket front bumper, so I lost the turn signals in the lower valance. All I did was re-route the turn signal wire from the lower valance, and stuck it into the side maker light hole. Granted, I did not use my running lights anymore, but I did have turn signals instead.

 

So, I removed the parking lamp assemblies and removed the turning lamps from the valance assemblies as well. I went to the auto parts store, and found a pair of Calterm 08574 signal tail lamp sockets originally for a GM. I also bought the corresponding 1157 bulbs for them. It seems reasonable to widen the original hole for the running lamp a bit, and mount this socket in about half way, that is if I have enough clearance between the back of the housing and the body of the truck. Will probably hack into it this weekend to find out. Also, I am entertaining the idea of finding a taillight assembly donated from another yota in the bone yard. It may work... may need to mod a bit! I will post images of success or failure.

Nervous, but will commit once I start it.

 

here is my thread with your concept. It was not well received and i could have executed it better, but I mounted my blinker bulb in my corner light housing. I also have clear corners, but IIRC the corner bulbs are 5W and the blinker bulbs are 25W. Even though they are in the same housing (just drilled a hole and stuck them in) the blinking is much brighter and very noticable.
