You have some of the blue neon bulb paint? Did you buy it somewhere here in the US? I see that you're in NY...

UKMeyers,
Hopefully. I'll be fine as soon as I have the paint in hand. Thanks for your help.

Krylon also make a paint for simulating stained glass. I used this on the bulbs and it works perfectly. You can get it at micheals or maybe even a larger home depot/ Rona / or Lowes. I also used some roscoe cinegel for the over head lights that come on with the door.

Pictures!?

I painted them all this weekend and it came out pretty well. I tried to take pics with my cheapo digital camera and i think the lights were too dark.

I'm kind of wondering if I might have painted them too thick. I just put on one coat, but some of the bigger bulbs dried up with scattered holes in the paint and i had to add more.

They look exactly like they are indiglo. I held up my cell phone next to them to compare and it is crazy how they are exactly alike. I like the way it looks, but I'm wondering how the current color will affect the indiglo guages I was planning on ordering in the future. I hope that they aren't too dark.

I've got another quick question here for you. Are the bulbs originally painted green or is it the instrument panel itself that has a green tint in the plastic?

If it's the former, did you peel or scratch the tint off?

If it's the latter, did you sand off the backs of the panels or anything?

Keith.......stock the bulbs have these rubber "condoms" over them. You can just pull them off and then the bulb is normal to paint or do whatever with.
