Brake light demonized

The brake light comes on intermittently for no reason, stopping, starting, driving and idling. The switches under dash are adjusted properly, fluid level it right, no air in the lines, no fluid leaks. Been to the autoshop and the stealership and no one can find the cause (it didn't do it when we had it). This is driving me nuts, i'm ready to pull the bulb out. Any ideas??

You have fluid in your brake light?! j/k
Check your ebrake lever. These are notorious for this. It only takes a tiny bit for it to be pushed out for the light to come on. Mine does it sometimes and I give it a good push to make the light go out. Might be some residue from grease/dust built up on the rod that's keeping out a hair. Push on it and see if the light goes out. I'm assuming you're talking about the dash light.
Btw, do you have any pics of your truck? I see in your sig you have no lift with 33s. I'm just curious how it looks from the side.

Thanks for the reply, I had looked at it but I'll check it out again. Here's a pic mostly from the side, a little to dark to take a side pic right now.

My first runner, I've had previous Toys 79 pickup, 84 pickup, and an 87 pickup. The dogs like the runner and since I don't really haul anything but hunting and fishing gear the 4Runner is great.

That's not so bad, I useto work at a Chysler Stealership and this guy comes in complaining he has done everything to get his car running good and we were his last hope. When I popped the hood I couldn't believe what I saw, each sparkplug wire had to be at least 20' long taped and wraped around the air cleaner. It was surprising it ran at all. His buddys at the mill kept telling him he was getting way too much spark and each time he went out and got longer and longer wires.

The brake light on my 2nd gen, when I had it, was extremely sensitive to a very small drop in brake fluid. I'm talking the addition of a few drops to what appeared to be the level that was right up to the line on the reservoir. Others have reported the same thing. Top off the reservoir just a tad above the line.

Dublin, that looks nice! Do you have any body lift at all? Do the tires rub anywhere? I put a 2" bl on mine but haven't got my 33s on yet. I was thinking that even with the lift I might have some rubbing.

Nope no lift at all. lots of rear inner wheel well trimming and a little on the valence. I do get some rubbing at full turn on an incline (tires on inner plastic wheel well). 1" and it would be fine,
2" or more would be better.
