Where can I find some good bolt on sliders for a reasonable price? I would rather not weld anything if i didn't have to.

are these bolt ons as durable as the sliders w/welds?

 

i have issues with drilling through the frame. I am wanting to get weld on and if I ever do sell and the new owner does not want them just cut them off and grind the welds off.

 

welds are hard to cut and grind off, if done right.

I'd say the bolt-ons are more temporary...but i doubt any next owner would want to take them off anyway...if they didn't want to go offroad, they'd get a 2WD.

Looks like I found one of my next mods. I've been searching for bolt on ones because I can't weld and don't want to pay someone to weld. Bolt ons would be easier for me and it seems that they are just as good.

Need to find a new job first.

I've been searching for some bolt-on sliders, but most are weld-on only. The 4crawler's are not clamp-on style (the U-shaped mounts, instead of the single plate), which is what I want.

Who makes the clamp-on kind? I like Demello's designs, but they only make weld-on's for 4Runners. They make bolt-on's for Tacoma's, but I don't think they would fit, right?

Removing sliders that have been welded properly onto mounting plates are easy to remove, clean up, and repaint so no one ever knew they were there or to move them. Ive done it numerous times for both cases.

As far as temporary you drill a bunch of holes in the frame that can only be covered up if you remove the sliders later by welding up the holes. Oh the irony there. All those holes in the frame do nothing but weaken the frame's structural integrity if just left there empty.

 

I've had only bolted on sliders for about 10 years now (2 different sets). No issues at all and I can pop my sliders off in under 10 minutes if needed (and have done so several times in the past).

What do you use for "mounting plates"? Is that pretty simple to do, seems like it would work better and be a bit tougher?
