body lift and auto tranny shifter

After I did my 2" BL, I noticed that the little red line next to my auto tranny shifter didn't line up with the gear I was in. Anyone else notice this? Is there a fix? My wife is really nervous driving it this way.

Mine did that crap all the time, just watch what it says on the dash and you'll be fine. Now that the body lift is off, it is gone. I'm sure the body lift messes up the angle/linkage and throws the little orange indicator off a tad.

Mine did this as well. I fixed it by loosening the bolt on the shift linkage, allowing for further adjustment, then I tightened it up when it was right. Maybe it will help to put the transmission in Neutral (engine off of course & parking-brake on) and climb under, make the adjustment, and peek up at the indicator to see if it is lined up.

Mine did it on the tranfer case shifter after a 1 inch BL, but not the transmission shifter. I had to lower the transfer shifting linkage about 1/2 inch to get it shift right. The little red line still doesn't line up right, but it works fine.

Which nut are you talking about... under the center console, or down by the tranny?

I just losened the trans shifter linkage when I put on the lift and then tightened it up after I put on the lift. I figured if it was loose it would adjust its self. It didnt end up moving but just a little bit. My shifter has never had any problems with the red line.

I finally got around to adjusting the linkage - worked great. A little PB Blaster and the nut loosened right up. I tried a few different positions until I found one that worked. For me, I had to slide the botl all the way forward in the linkage.

Thanks guys.
