Blinker Buzz (Broken)

Ok this is the problem...
When I push my lever up to turn on the right turn signal (whenever I acutally use a turn signal), If I don't push it up hard it will buzz. Once I get it blinking when I'm turning the blinker will start to buzz. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and knows how to fix it?

I think there is just something in the steering column thats loose or broken. I haven't had the time to sit down and trouble shoot it, but will this weekend so trying to get some info on it.

Hi there,

consider it normal, both my previous runner and my current one do this. I typically happens when I change lanes and just hold the lever up or down enough so it just doesn't lock in. I think the switch kind off makes half contact and makes the relay in the flasher rattle at a high speed.

My wife had a Tercel when we met. It did the same thing you described. We ended up having the dealer replace the switch in the steering column. Fortunately, it was under warranty.

My wife's 95 Camry does this too. First time I did it, I thought I busted something.

Neither my 98 or (departed) 99 4runners did this. Ill try it out tomorrow though.

My 85 Subaru does this when its cold out. I think it has something to do with dirt or corrosion on the switch contacts. after the first time I use the blinker it works fine but if I don't use it for a while it will buzz again.

yeah if it doesn't rain this weekend I'm gonna pull it apart and hopefully not break anything else in the process. I can either do that or sand out the rust spot on my bed and primer it.

I have had this happen a time or two. I had the exact same idea - that the switch wasn't quite making a good connection. However, it happens so rarely that I quit thinking about it 5 minutes later!

Yeah, I'm just trying to think of cheap stuff to do this weekend before I get the timing chain replaced and not spend that much money so I can start spending it on mods, etc. Have had the truck for almost 4 weeks now and timing chain replacement is putting a dampining on my mods.
