Avon Tire ?'s

So what is evryones take on these tires?? I have never heard of these tires - and might have found a good deal on picking up 4 Avon Radial SXT 31x10.5 Mud Terrains already mounted - for $250... There are still 95% tread left - and I am waiting for pics. But until then - I thought that I would ask here - since I haven't been steered wrong yet !! Thanks for any help that I can get!!!!

avon is really moving up in quality...and they're starting a big push into the US this year as in Europe they're real big. I know their street car tires, high performance at least, are at the top of the pile along with a couple others, their reg. road car tires are good too. My dad has SXT all terrains on his 4 runner and they seemed good the one time I rode in it, never wheeled with em though

I'm running the Avon Mud Terrain SXT's in 265/75/16. They've been a pretty good tire so far, seem to wear very well. I can't say I've been thrilled with them on ice or in heavy rain. That could be about my driving ability though. I purchased mine at Les Schwab's.

I have run Avon tires on motorcycles and have been happy with them, if I could find a good deal on them for my truck I wouldn't hesitate.

Avon has been making tires in Europe for YEARS, they are by far the best motorcycle on the market. I’ve tried a few over the years and always go back to them. I have 2 bikes, one is a little cafe racer that I run the Avon Super Venom tires on, they are narrow but in an 18" size the bike handles GREAT! On my Triumph the last set before the current Michilins were the Avon Azaros, they were hands down the best tire I’ve ever used. I was on a road trip on my bike when I picked up a nail with the rear and the ONLY shop that had a 180/55zr17 rear only had Michilin Macadam 100s, that they would only sell as a set WTF???!! To make a long story short the Michilins lasted about 4500 miles and the rear has NO tread in the center and the front is a cupped up mess. Its funny, I just ordered a new set of Avons this week! They aren’t truck tires, but I can vouch for the name!

Just threw on some 265/65/16R SXTs this mornig. Went ahead and got em' siped too. So far I am very happy. They look sweet and they are very quite on the road for a mud tire. Did bog the rig down a bit being 2" bigger than the old ones. Bet a header will fix that.

Maybe the tires are made from the same stuff their Tupperware is made from? My parents still have that stuff from the 70's! And the lids still fit to this day!
