Anyone in the Central FL area?

Hi! I'm new to the board. Just signed up today. I've been checking it out since I bought my 4runner in April. It's helped me with alot of info and repairs that I got stuck with on my girl because the previous owner got rid of her before she started falling apart. She's got 125,000 miles and I've replaced the timimg chain and gears, radiator, plug wires, ujoints, and the pinion seals, bearings, blah, blah, blah. She oughta be good for another 100,000 now. I was wondering if there's anyone out here in my neck of the woods who has alot of knowledge about these 1st gens and won't mind sharing with me.

Hi. Welcome to the board. I live in Jacksonville but stationed at Naval Base Mayport. It's good to know some more Floridians on this board. I haven't benn able to go wheeling since I'm too busy onboard the ship or out of town most of the time. I'll be gone this October for our ship's 6 month deployment again. Post some pics of your rig.

Hi, George! Nice to hear back from somebody finally. I've done a little muddin' down at one of the wildlife management areas in Osceola County where I hunt. I'm not much for all the rock climbing. I guess I'm too old for that much excitement. So you say you're at Mayport? I was never there, but I was in the Navy a million years ago. I was an ET. You heading out for a Med cruise in Oct.? Been there, done that. Maybe we can get together when you get back. Hopefully by then I can get a few more of the members of this board to speak up. I'll try to post some pics when I get her cleaned up. Took her out deer scouting this past weekend and got a little dirty. It was raining like hell and some of the trails at the WMA were washed out. Had a ton of fun though and never had to put it in 4WD. Have a good time on the Med and stay safe!

TP - welcome! I live in Daytona Beach. Yes, Charlie kicked my butt! Got a 04 Runner to replace my 96 Ford Ranger so I don't know a thing about older yotas. I did put a 3 inch lift on last spring and just got 275/70/17 Goodyear ATS's - big 32's or little 33's. Love the rig so far but don't plan on trashing it like I did the Ford.

Hi Colemanfu! Yes, Charley was pretty ugly wasn't he? You're not too far down the road from me. I imagine your truck's a daily driver, too. Sounds like it. Mine is, too, but I like to take it out every once in a while. Where do you ride? We have this area in Deltona called "Biker's Paradise". It's sugar sand for as far as the eye can see. There's a few areas of trees and other objects(rocks, logs, etc.), but mainly sand. I haven't been out there yet, but maybe I can get by there one day. For now, I work too much and my weekends are spent doing home projects and hunting.

BTW, George and Colemanfu, how about posting some pics of your trucks?

It's good to know that you were in the Navy before. I'm a Gas Turbine Tech, 13 years and counting.
By the way, I usually go to Ocala National forest for some wheeling and camping with the family. It's a good way to relieve some stress from work. I was thinking of stopping by at Osceola everytime We go to Alabama to visit my in-laws. Hopefully i'll be able to one of these days.

Hey, George! Nice truck!!! I like that front bumper setup you've got going. Maybe we can all get together next time you go to Ocala. That's not too far from me here in Deltona.
