So after a few years of having the 1st gen roll bar (which I really liked) I decided that I need and would really benefit much more from having a sleeping platform.

Now I have a. more square footage for sleeping, b. don't have to unroll and roll up sleeping foam matts and c. have more storage room under it (also up top in my cargo box since I don't have the sleeping matts).

Very pleased with the outcome, sturdy, comfortable, lots of storage and room to sleep. Can't wait to try it out!

If you do a lot of camping in rough weather, surfing, skiing and/or don't always feel like setting up a tent or don't have a good place to do so, I highly suggest this. I can only guess it will be much better then sleeping back there w/o out it!

Ah ya, funny you beat me to it... I was about to say that its def not as nice as some of the ones I've seen with super nice spring/roller drawers, aluminum frames and/or stained hard wood which look as good as or better then oem, even seen some with fold out picnic tables! But, I'd say its at least half assed And, really all I need, serves all my purposes. I wanted a super simple design that was as low as possible. I can fit 3 41qt rubber maid containers under it and the whole thing is barely 8" tall so planty of room to sit up and my dog to stand up.

 

Can I ask where you got the sticker? =)

Been driving around with it for a day now and its super solid, not a shake or rattle from it, love all the flat space back there.....for the $ and time it took me to put it together I'm very happy. At this point if i was to do it again, I don't think I'd change anything (other then maybe take more time stretching that vinyl better).

 

Yeah it serves your needs so that is basically all that matters! Maybe you can upgrade soon though since you will be saving all that $$$$ not paying for a Motel 6!

 

The aluminum one that was posted on this site is SICK!!! Yall need to find it and check it out if you haven't already!

Nice and simple. Looks to double as a mobile massage table.... if you cut a hole in it.

I need to make sleeping provisions for my truck. That bump where the bottom of the back seat is gets old really quick when sleeping there.
