Alignment issues .

I just put on 4 new tires(Toyo open country AT 265/70/16) on my 97 4runnner .I have 185 000km on the clock. Before replacing the tires.I noticed that the front drivers tire had more wear on the outside .I had the tires replaced and took the truck to a Toyota delear for a 4 wheel alignment. Now it appears the truck is pulling to the left .I took it back to have it checked out .They cross rotated the tires and rechecked the alignment .I still feel the pull to the left .At low speeds I don`t notice it much .But at highway speeds it is definantly noticeable.I keep having to correct the steering to the right .When I let go the wheel the truck definantly goes left.

I would have someone else align it. I have always been skeptical of the quality of service I get from dealers, even Toyota. At least thats the way it is in my area. A good shop should get you fixed up or at least point you in the right direction, with regard to other possible problems.

+2 on another alignment some place else. After I had the ball joint recall C/W at the dealership, my steering wheel was off center. A Certain Toyota service manager refused to fix it claming that the ball joint replacement would not cause that problem. I took it to a shop I use to work for and checked it and it all out of spec. I love my truck but the dealer where I bought it can never seem to fix it right. Oh, and never let a shop sell you a 2 wheel alignment. that is a shady fix. 4 wheel alignments are the only to get every thing in sinc. Good luck.

my alignment issues (all dealer):
had BJ recall done - no problems
new tires w/ alignment - no problems
rotate tires - pulls left

realign - no problem
rotate tires - pulls left (repeated 3X so far)
last time went 6 miles - rotate = issue?

cant seem to find out why. offroading does not affect it, only the rotations???

Yeah its a big, known problem the 3rd gens. have.

Remember, our trucks are lug centric not hub centric...they need to use a haweka adapter when wheel balancing.Which may have an effect on what you're talking about as well.

Or even a worn brake pad could cause the problem, but I would think this would effect the steering more when under break pressure only. I suppose that doesn't have to be the case though...just a thought.

You can't do a 4 wheel alignment on a 3rd gen. Everything i've read on them has said that. Here's just one of the man links that say this.https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f123...ft-info-81538/
