Advice on new purchase...
#21
well i am picking up an 83 4x4 mini truck this weekend
blue, 4" lift that has seen better days with some nice aluminum wheels and 32x11.50 bfg mud's. truck has an ice cold air conditioner! weber carb and the best body i have seen on an 83 in a long time, there is no rust on the cab, a little bit of surface rust on the bed but nothing i can't knock out. truck runs but likely needs a head gasket.
also has a new starter, oil pump, timing cover, bottom end has been done, the front axle bearings and seals were recently done and the rear end was rebuilt about a year ago.
i was pricing an engine kit from engnbldr.com and it is only $233 i may end up just doing the entire motor at that price.

once the headgasket is fixed i will drive it back and forth to work for now. i really can't get over the new taco so i will probably sport this for awhile and hopefully once the 06's come out some 05's will start popping up used at decent prices. i always keep my eyes open and due to my job have access to hundreds of dealer trade-ins at cost each week. if i see something that catches my eye i may pick it up and drive until i can turn it. i did fairly well with the mustang i just sold, if i could duplicate the profit i made on it a few more times i will probably swing the taco.
the truck should be sticking around for awhile. atleast until i need something to take wheeling that will seat more than 2 people but being that my son is only 7 months and my wife doesn't really have any interest it will last me a while.
