Dust cap sticks out too far...

So, I want to put bigger wheels and tires on my 1991 4runner... my dad has a spare sent of 31" tires mounted on Tundra wheels. I put them on to test and make sure they fit - and they do, BUT... when I try to put the center cap on the front two wheels - the dust cap on the hub (I have automatic locking hubs) gets in the way... What can I do to eleviate this problem... HELP!!!!!

Thanks!!!

I dont think you can since the wheels were really meant for you truck afterall. Perhaps you can modify the dustcap in some form or way.

I was thinking about putting manual hubs on instead - I put some warn ones on my last 4Runner - I liked the looks of those a lot.

I also thought about running it with no cap - but I want it to look "finished" - you know what I mean???

I want to take the dust cap off to see if I can maybe shave 1/4" off it - But I haven't got that far - I thought that they would just pop right off - maybe I am just a weak a** - so I'll get a little more into it this weekend. I would love to just be able to shave it down, but we'll see! Thanks...

Any more ideas?!?!?!?!?!
