98' Gauge Cluster in a 97'

I have a 97' Toyota 4Runner Auto SR5 4WD

The gauge cluster glass is scratched up
and I also don't have a gear indicator (this being the bigger issue then the glass really).

I was browsing around eBay wasting time when I came across this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1998-...QQcmdZViewItem

I was wondering:
1)Will this gauge cluster fit in a 97' 4Runner?
2)If so, Two more questions:
a)Will the gear select work like it should?
b)What would I have to do to show the same mileage as I have now on Tess?
If it all will work and such I would like to also purchase this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOYOT...QQcmdZViewItem
It says it fits all 96-98 runner gauge clusters, but I don't have the gear select on mine and it would look pretty stupid to have just empty spaces on there that don't work...

I have searched but only changing out same gauge clusters or changing out the LED lights.

Thanks in advanced guys!

P.S. If I missed anything feel free to tell me

WT on the forum( he hasnt posted in a long time) helped me out with my guages. He used some sort of plastic cleaner they use on motorcycle windscreens.

I figured I could do that
But since i am takin out the entire gauge anyway to change the bulbs in it (if at all possible) I thought "upgrade!" (in funny Robin Williams sorta way)

I am also interested if it would work. I hate not seeing the gear change at night!

It says on www.car-part.com that it comes up only 96-97 will work and to get mileage you will have to purchase one close to the same or have a tech set it to the mileage. I know they can program on digital but not sure about analog.

Cant you just roll back the mileage on the analog ones?

Shoot! I really do hate not seeing that gear change at night.
I i thought you could just switch out the analog dials from the ones on our to the second set?
If the case is that I do have to by one closer to mileage, I have a lot of driving to do, cause Tess is young yet compared to the other speedometers out there...

That or just switch them out is what I thought as well...
