Mounting Driving lights in the front bumper?

I have been thinking about possibly mounting driving lights inside the bumper. This would involve me cutting two ovals in the front bumper. If I got a nice good cut oval I think it would look good. What are you guys thoughts on doing this?

Here are some pictures of the lights and bumper:

I wouldn't put them on the chrome bumper IMO. I would put them either under the blinkers on the plastic part of the bumper or somewhere near the OEM fog light position.

I'll be a vote for the other side

I say go for it. I like the location and if people are brave enough to cut into there BODY PANELS for the VW side markers, than cutting into the stock chrome bumper is a Sunday walk in the park.

Just make it a clean cut [no hack job ]

If you'll notice, HaveBlue's bumper looks mighty nice with lights on either side of his license plate

if you do it, find some rubber grommets to put on. that way it will be sealed tight to the lights and look more finished than just a cut in the chrome

Haveblue: Those lights in the grill look awesome! I thought about doing that but mounting them seems more complicated. How'd you mount them?

Keep the thoughts coming!

Thanks

I have two Hella driving lights mounted to the front of my taco grill with L shaped brackets. You want driving lights up high, close to the regular headlights. Fog lights are better down low. The driving lights up high provide great throw and compliment the high beams perfectly. I should really take pictures.

(editorial note: I am grossly function oriented. looks are a non issue except resale value)

I have decided to hold off on the lights in the front, but I am going to go ahead and put those lights in the back for some reverse lights.
