Question 96 4 Runner Rear Wiper

My rear wiper is not doing a good job on the top portion of the window. I have replaced the blade and still having problems. The wiper blade appears to be losing contact with the window in that area and I do understand why, nor do I see any way to adjust it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

This is a common problem with 4Runners. I believe the spring loses its.....spring.......which causes the contact problem. It's too cold right now, but once it warms up a bit, I am going to try to figure this out.

same problem here. i've tried lubing the spring and where the arm flexes from the base and at first it's ok, but then seizes again shortly after. now i just took the whole arm off, i don't miss it since it never worked anyway.

Tie someone to the roof rack and tell them when the wiper comes up, push on it with their hand up against the glass. lol

Bend it.
I had to do the same thing to mine.
Work the spring then bend it right where the arm and the blade attach ever so slightly.
Works perfect now, and I have had the same blade on there since 97 :-)
