5VZ-FE Starting Issues

I've been having some issues with my truck starting lately and thought I'd see if anyone here had any advice. Some background on the truck it's a 1989 pick up with a 5vz-fe swapped in it 4x4 5 speed. The engine is from a 1997 T100 manual trans. It ran fine all winter and now since the thaw has begun I've noticed it starts hard if it is warm out or if the engine is partially warm (has sat for a little while). If it's stone cold, it's usually fires up right away like it should. Otherwise, I have to hold my foot on the throttle partially to get it to start. The fuel pump was changed in the fall, as well as cleaned the mass airflow sensor and IAC valve. I was thinking it was either a leaking fuel injector, or a coolant/air intake temp sensor issue. I ran some injector cleaner in the fuel and also looked at my scan data on my scan tool to see what my sensors were reading. Nothing stuck out as abnormal there and the injector cleaner made no difference. I do have a code though P1335 crankshaft position sensor fault. I have not had time to look into the cause of that code yet. I can see the crankshaft position sensor causing starting problems, but doesn't make sense why it is temperature related. That part has me a bit baffled... Has anyone ran into similar issues before? I've searched and have come up with nothing. Thanks for the help!

electrical components like to fail when they get hot. Try replacing it.

By starting hard you mean it needs to crank far longer then normal??

Once it does start it idles high till it warms up??

Oregon Taco was having a similar problem and spent lots of money!!

It cranks for a long time and wont fire up unless i give it some throttle. Of course it got cold here and snowed again last night so today it won't do it likely. I need to get some time to hook up my lab scope to the crank position sensor and see what kind of a pattern it is putting out. Being a mecahnic, everyone else's vehicles get fixed first and your own come last...

I should also clarify it isnt hot when it fails. I can shut the truck off hot and it will start right back up fine. Its when its just warm. Even if it sits out in just above freezing temps it will act up. Or if i drove it and let it sit for an hour or two.

Mine is doing same thing. I have 91 ext cab v6 5 speed with 96 auto 3.4 swap. I do have cel for auto trans comp with manual trans. I am also getting crank sensor code. I check it and it seams ok but i replaced it anyways. Still have crank code. My truck will start if i hold key for like 30 - 40 seconds. Regardless of temp or if i press throtle.

Once started it runs GREAT. I changed plugs ngk (the right ones), crank sensor , cleaned maf, cleaned throttle body, cleaned iac. Im running out of ideas. Air filter has low miles. Fuel pump and filter done 2 years ago. Right before the swap. I have like 35,000 miles on the swap.

Ive narrowed mine down to leaking fuel injectors. I checked my fuel pressure and isolated just the fuel rail. The pressure drops down to nothing so its leaking from the injectors. I have new ones just need time to install them. Since i cleared the codes I havent had that ckp sensor code come back. Im wondering if it wasnt setting that code due to the erratic long starts from being flooded.... I will find out.

I finally got the injectors replaced last week and so far so good. All the issues seem to be gone.
