4th Gen Runner grill guard...
Can someone post pics of available grill guard for the 2003 4Runner and where to get them? The one that you get from the dealers is the only one I know of. Are there any other ones? 4th Gens owners care to respond?
thanks.
thanks.

Keep in mind that if you get a brush guard with the little wires across the headlights/corner lights you have to remove the hole friggin brush guard to replace a corner light bulb. Also if you actually hit anything with it its more likely to cause more dammage than if you hit it without the "guard" on.

Was speaking with a TX cop who has a Manik <SP?> on her Tahoe and she said it is worth it. She had the same brand on her previous truck and hit a deer, no damage to the truck.
Same story from a few other people I spoke with out there.
You can actually push with the Manik <SP?>
What I got is basically this: You get what you pay for, it must be one piece, steel, bolt on to your frame, not your bumper.
edited to reflect: Tha is the one-piece Manik... None such is available for the '03 4Runner as of this time.

I don't know how to post a link, but go to autoanything.com and check out what they have to offer. It's a center guard that is made by a company called T & H.
Sorry already mentioned two posts up.

It's a good thing that jx points that corner light thing out...
I've had mine on for a while and as you can see from the avatar, I've taken out the small bars that go across the headlights.
I had the unfortunate hassle of having both of those corner (parking) lights go out on me. Only after the 2nd time did I learn and pull those dang things out.
I personally like the new look without them and it makes washing the truck SO much easier. Note for anyone who wants to take them out, don't forget to replace the bolt that goes into the tube. I noticed some hissing when I took mine out too.
I left mine open overnight and so when I decided to put replacement bolts back in (original were allen/hex with circular heads) I sprayed some WD-40 in there.
These guards like to rust kind of fast, no sense in helping it.

I don't know about the Bull bar on top but I know WAAG mounts on the frame of the truck.
Problem with WAAG is that their bars are kind of thin.
Check out http://www.performanceproducts.com to see what your other options are.

called safarigard and they won't have 4runner parts until the end of the year. What's up with that? That safari 4runner has been out for what, 6 months now?
Anyway, I might hold off until then. The safarigard looks like it has the best approach angle clearance.

Actually, I am going to have to disagree with that... Though, I used to believe that myself.

I don't think a brush guard would help as much as it would hurt in a direct front end vehicle to vehicle crash, at least not the one I saw and mention in the thread. His 4Runner was a mess!!!

I have been wondering about that as well. From the few pictures I have seen, it looks like it screws into the bumper, which would be a really bad idea. Granted it is just for looks and serves no function at all,. and I don't even think it has tabs for lights. I haven't seen one in person, but would love to hear from somebody that has.
