First off, I never use my AC, even in the summer i just open up all of my windows and the back slider, and its getting cold in the northeast now so i have no issues not having an AC system. This belt must have snapped a week ago and i've been only making little 10 min trips in my truck while i'm still riding my dual sport around. I noticed the truck was feeling a little sluggish lately but i figured it was just my theory that I need to change my fuel filter.(got some bad gas). Anyways my senses were heightened today and I felt like there just had to be something in my intake clogging it up because the truck just had terrible throttle response. I get home and see the melted black pieces of a torched belt

So The belt clearly does nothing but spin my AC compressor..

Why was my truck being so sluggish?
Why did it go back to normal when i disconnected the electrical connector on top of the AC compressor pulley?

Do I need to put another belt on right now?

The pulleys still turn and everything looks fine besides the plastic bits.
