looks pretty damn good compared to that rodeo or whatever it is. I wonder how an ARB bumper would affect all that

The one right after the 4Runner is a Blazer.

I think in a severe crash it would make things worse. It is not absorbing as much energy, instead it is going to direct the full force into the frame and body.

In my crash in my 2nd gen I truly believe that my TJM saved me from very serious injury if not my life. i would hate to imagine what my vehicle and me would have looked like had it not been there

a few winters back i slid off the road going about 25-30 miles per hour and i hit a tree. it only left a small dent on the bumper and it definitely saved my radiator. they are designed to crumple like a helmet and take the impact so I think it would definitely help during a high speed crash

I recently got headered hard enough to deploy the airbags in mine. The other car more or less went right under mine. Thank god for a little extra height from the factory.

ARB's do bend, at least in a 3 roll wreck. I haven't seen one in a head on. Talk about an exciting ride...

Ahhh I always wanted to see a video like this but could never find one. It's great knowing that the T4R can hold up better than some other cars.

They certainly do. The OP's link is part 2 of the Dateline show.
The 4Runner is the first truck crashed in the first part. Full slo-mo and commentary of the crash and results.
Here is part 1.

It's amazing to see the energy rippling through the sheet metal and frame from front to back...pretty much nothing is spared! Makes me wonder what my soon-to-be donor transmission has been through...
