3.4L swap

I posted about a week ago that I was having problems with my 3.0L. I did a compression check and the #6 cylinder was at 30psi.

I am going to do a swap to the 3.4L. I have checked around and am not finding much info. Do any of you guys know of any sites that have good info on this? Thanks!

This one is into a 2nd Gen. I think there are additional hood clearance issues on the 1st Gens.

I thought 2nd Gens started in 90. I've been wrong before...

1990 was the first year for the 2nd generation 4Runners. I have an 89 4runner and it is a 1st generation. The trucks started the 3rd generation in 89...a year earlier than the 4runner body change.

Hood height should be similar between a 1st and 2nd gen. I think the article with the 3.4 swap into a 1st gen required a hood cutout because the guy didn't have a body lift. I've heard 1" body lift is mandatory and others say 2". Only complete one I know of has a 2" body lift.

I have a 1" body lift on mine...so we'll see if it works. If it doesn't, I'm debating on whether to go to a 2" body lift or just add a hood scoop.

My ears still ring from the whack across the head with the frying pan - from the last time I "reminded" her that I'm always right...

What was the one error? I've erased it from my memory obviously.
