3.0 V6 Ticking...

Alright, before I dump all my money into a lift I wanna find out if this is really bad...

When my runner is warmed up there will be this tick, its not constant as if to be injectors, its more irradic (sp?). Only does it when its warmed up, cant find the source of it though... any thoughts?

Sticky valve train? Mine used to tick but with mobil 1 and a yota oil filter, its pretty quiet.

My 3.0 @ 125K on it. When started you can ticking on a drivers side valve. The ticking stops when oil reaches the valve train. I use an additive called tufoil. Tufoil contains MOLYBDENUM DISULFIDE. There's more info located at

http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/moly.html

I am not totaly convinced Tufoil is a good addative based on cost. But, I haven't had any issues as today. I used Slick 50 and other teflon based oil additives in my Taco and ended up having major problems. Problems included starving the top end. Teflon was blocking oil inlets and channels increasing the friction on the valve train and cam.

Look where your steering shaft penetrates the firewall (on the inside of the truck). The seal there might be gone. Mine was, and the ticking drove me insane. Once I replaced it the ticking stopped. It turned out to be normal engine noise just coming through the hole.
