2nd Gen A/C system is outrageous!!

I can't believe how much the A/C compressor is for the 3.0!! Mine siezed up on me and Ive been avoiding the fix because of the cost, but it gets so hot where I do most of my driving that I cant stand it anymore. I was quoted over $1,100 today to get my A/C working properly. I can't believe this. Anybody know anyone or know of a place that I can find a working compressor for a 95' 3.0? Thanks guys.

Depot road huh? Im new to the area so I didn't even know there was a yard there. This may be a stupid question but the 95 uses the R134. Will a compressor from 90-94 work? Or does it have to be out of the same vehicle? does the compressor just create the pressure to make the system work? Thanks for the info.

My '94 has R134A in it from the factory, so I'm fairly sure it will work also.

Actually where i bought a remanufactored NipponDenso (actual OEM part) was from www.aircoparts.com this for my mom's camry; cost me only $129 for the compressor, can't beat that! Plus...NO CORE CHARGE, well for this purchase anyway.
