1999 + Headlamp housing

Question 1999 + Headlamp housing

I want to upgrade my 1997 headlights to the improved 1999+ design. My right side light has a cracked frame which causes it to aim much closer to the front of the truck than the left side. For someone who really likes to see where he is going, my headlights are not doing the job.

Does anyone know how much the 1999+ headlamp housings cost? Are there any other suggestions on what I should do to upgrade? HID is most likely out of my budget. Besides, installing HID doesn't address the cracked headlight frame issue.

I am switching to these on a 97 4Runner with H4 bulbs. Will the bulbs fit perfectly into the assembly or does anything else have to be done in order to upgrade?

One question is will the OEM and aftermarket have the same H4 beam pattern? I had an experience where my aunts Infiniti G20 headlights has been changed, due to a crack, and they were replaced with non-OEM, and the beam pattern is now all messed up. The aftermarket companies can't exactly replicate the same OEM deisgn, so the beam pattern is no longer good.

Not to hi-jack the thread but what about the newer taillights that came on the 2002's? I'm not sure when they started those but they are nice. Anyone know where to find those? Ebay is full of the altezza ones.

The beam pattern should not change, I am running my stock headlights ('99) with some PIAA bulbs and the beam pattern didn't change at all, however, you seem to notice more about your headlights than I would so it may bug you I have no idea...all I know is with the my stock headlights and PIAA bulbs I can see for MILES.

As for the tailights, I got the upgraded ones from '01 and up from Toyota. I'm sure you could find them on Ebay every and now and then but your best would be to just get them from the dealer.

Thats not what I mean't. I mean't the headlight housing, OEM vs. aftermarket and if the beam pattern changes with aftermarket.
