Free FMU mod hooked up. There was a hose already connected to that thing. it went to the line on the side of the TB area on the S/C iteself. I just capped that part off. Ohh and i somehow managed to kink the damn boost line :pat: ill have to order a new one off the net. It still works fine but thats going to be the first place it breaks at.

Should i reset the computer? Went to go fill up and it seems as is all the hesitation has gone away. Especially in third and as soon as i cross the 3k rpm mark she flies like no other. I dont know if its all in the head. but it seemed a bit better. Ill let you know what i get on the tank. This last tank i got 16.1mpg. well see how bad it drops.

I want to thank you for you helpful deeds ill have to getcha a 12 pack or something.

Sweet! But don't do that too much. When you do a WOT run through 1st, 2nd, and then 3rd the fuel demands can be extreme. And as you probably know by now, your stock fuel pump is not up to the task. Go easy on it!

But hey, I am glad this helped you out.

Not necessary! I am just glad I could help a fellow enthusiast out.

Sure, reset the ECU. Pull the NEG then hold the brake down for 10 seconds.

I hear ya about those rice burners! I actually haven't ran into too many of them lately. They must be in hiding.

Just don't put a hole in your piston or fry a ring. If you do that Ford Asfire's will be smoking you. :

Reading this only makes me want a charger more.

Those rice burners are all over the area i live. Live like 10 min away from Peoria where all the rich parents buy their kids w/e they want.

But, im thinking of removing this mod now.... I noticed when i let off the gas or go to switch gears, seems like its doing a reverse affect on the lean out condition. It almost sounds like its pinging when i do that. And at idle too. Only does it when it goes into the vacume stage. Either that or that valve is bad. I think im going to put it back the way i had it and just ease up on it or fill up with 100 octane.

And X2and4X Do it if you can afford both the S/C and the fuel upgrades. If you do you will wish you had done it sooner!

Im getting a reverse affect from the free fmu mod. was wondering if you or know of anyone else here that had the same problem. Its pinging now at idle and when i go to switch gears. Only happens pretty much under vacume stage.

I have never heard of an engine pinging at idle. Are you sure it isn't just a rattle related to the SC'r? Are you positive the Free FMU is hooked up correctly?

Well, you're the first that I know of with this problem. Did you reset the ECU after the mod? (pull the NEG, hold down the brake pedal for 10 sec)

IMO its better to reset the ECU by pulling the ECU fuse... then you dont have to reset your clock and radio presets...

I used to do that too until I saw how long the ECU took to adjust with a scantool hooked up vs. the pull the NEG and step on the brake method. It was instantaneous using the NEG method, which is what I needed for tuning.

I agree about the clock and presets though; totally annoying.

It pings all the time now?

Have you tried reversing the things you changed to see if it will stop.
