nice build !
I'm from Anchorages. come down sometime.

if you ever get down to Wasilla KGB, theres a place call "Yota Barn" . his name is Matt. and usually has tons of toyota parts..mostly parts it off of 4runners.

if you have Facebook, just search Yota barn and they should pop up..g

sweet only been up here a month any kind of general recommendations for winter trucks winterized an I haven't decided if I want to buy studded tires or cooper discovery m+s to run year round. And if I remember wasilla is like a hour north of anchorage? I drove through there from homer where the ferry landed. But I was tired when I blew through that area.

at least in my opinion i was watching the skyline as much as the road/ logging trails but really awesome sights.
still looking for a rebuild kit engnbldr looks like its the cheapest but i dont like the sound of any gasket called "rock gasket" sounds hard and prone to leaks. LCE had one but its 200 more then engnbldr and doesnt come with a cam and valve kit so idk looks like a engnbldr kit and maybe a factory head gasket? opinions? About the door getting parts up here takes forever over a week already and my window regulater hasnt shown up at napa! they say tomorrow

Looks like you got a great project there and making some progress. I seen you asking about the timing chain guides. The plastic ones are what comes from Toyota and they will last like they should. Engine Builder sells metal guides with his kit. Changing the timing chain is part of routine maintenance and comes with the kit and plastic ones come with most kits, depending on which brand you go with. Looking forward to your build.

I stuck with the stock cam because funds were tight but I wish I would have done the 261C

also the timing kit in the engbldr kit comes with steel guides

. Looks like I'm gonna do the engbldr kit with the 261c cam metal guides just can't justifies the lce price. When your trying to stay low budget on your truck. On a side note Anderson isn't far from where I grew up . Do you know where bolivar is? And 4x4 yota did you use the gasket kit in the engine builder kit?

grrrrrrr so apparently i blew both cvs last sat or they were already ripped and i just blew em wide so add another 80+ to the parts bill.
On a even stupider note napa is retarded and ordered the wrong part stupid woman............ never going back there took a hour and a drawn out argument to get the 20 bucks worth of shipping refunded so i then drove to fairbanks 20 miles to oreillys and they ordered it with free shipping for 3 bucks less then napa. Today hasnt been my day but i did get the motor on the stand and theres no rust on the bottom end. When i got it the valve cover and timing cover were missing so i half suspect it to be rusted all up.

Well I got my door on this weekend and the dang thing won't adjust does anyone know some secret I'm not seeing any as I look through the search but I could be looking over I pulled the fender (because that was easier then trying to break my fingers)and tried for a hour to get it adjust as per fsm but it just won't do it also another thing I gotta do is get new exhaust the muffler I believe the can right under the drivers side of the bed is completely rusted out so I was thinkin magma flow car back unless y'all know a cheaper comparable car back system?
