so i am replacing the engine on my 94 pickup and my mechanic instructed me to buy the lucas break in additive. does anyone have any experience with this and the effects on their catalytic converters?

No Idea, but I did use Lucas assembly lube. Good stuff.

 

Well it says right on it that it might cause damage. Lol

Most likely it will wipe out the 02 sensor also.

Could run it Catless for a while but can't get around running without a 02 very well.

A new 02 seniors isn't a bad idea though after the break in if it hasn't been changed in a while so if you could take the Cat out id run it with the current 02 and then change it.

 

Don't know how it would damage the cats if you put it in your oil. Especially on a new engine.
