tylers 89 alaskan beater

well after lurking here for a while i went out and bought a 89 toy 4wd with the 22re 5speed. Only has 133xxx miles on it believe it or not except for the creases at the dent edges it is rust free. so plan for the truck is real simple
A- fix the fenders if possible probably not but hey its worth a shot
bucket seats
sr5 gauge cluster
tires
fix ebrake
drivers side window regulated
passenger side mirror

b- small lift enough for 33s
lockers
gears
armor
b is not necessarily that order but you get the picture
tommorrow picks

Just got back from the junk yard it's kind of a weird place you walk around pick out what you want but you can't pull it so they get a guy to do it and you come back the next day so tomorrow I'm goin back to get a door that actually matches paint wise $60 extra set of Aisin locking hubs 40, drivers fender it's blue but royal blue $50 and a head and block with oil pan for $125 that supposedly it was impounded from a shop cuz the guy never paid he parts bill.It has a honed cylinder and a good head idk but I'll see when it get home idk if those prices are good or not for a Toyota but for 290 sounded good. Then from a u pull it yard I got a passenger window assembly for 15. So I think today was successful and recommendations on the 22re rebuild parts

WOW those are great prices!! Glad you were able to find parts for it already. I think that its a nice looking truck and relatively clean!

I used to live near a few yards in PA that were like that. You pat for what you need and they pull it. Kind of annoying because you never know how they are going to disassemble it. One time I had a guy CUT an engine harness that I needed with the engine!! When I went to pick it up they guy could not under stand why I was pissed. haha

Well they should have my parts today at some point and gizler the manager of the yard is a yota guy I guess he says that he's always doing runners. He had a nice 94 out there yesterday that might be why the Toyota prices are better. I asked about a brush guard for the ford in the first pic and dude told me 100 bucks?!

North pole ak and I didn't grab the brushgaurd it was a homemade flat iron push bar complete trash. Just got home with the stuff. This weekend I'm gonna try to put it on.After further looking I'm pretty sure this head is brand new an the bottom end only got 150000 at leasts that's what the odo read in the truck. So it's goin to a machine shop to be checked out then it's time to order parts. If anyone has suggestions on the rebuild supplier I'm open to suggestions

So I can't figure out pictures on my phone so I'll upload some later but I got the fender on and ordered my regulater for the driver side door.So when that comes in ill put on the door. When I was replacing the plugs found that I was running on 3 cylinders as the plug wire on number 3 (2nd from the firewall )was broke and of course the parts store was closed so driving the ford tomorrow.

so in the second picture of the timing chain is that the normal timing guides or some cheap crap?

Tthe door thats going on when the regulater comes in does any body have a good install write up i looked for about 30 min and couldnt find a good one.
The fender is one dont match but i cant decide if i want to paint the fender to match the truck or the truck to match the fender opinions?

The gap was at .44-50 not a single one even close so what i think happened since the auto lite come gapped at .44 they just grabbed them and screwed em in with out checking the gap the number three contact was pretty much off. Then the # 3 correct me if im numbering these wrong the second one from the back same plug the wire contact was broke out and just riding loose so i hope this was the problem with stumbling at wot now im working on disassembly of the extra motor does anyone know the size of bolt for the engine stand?

Do you like the blue or silver better? I think blue has more character.
